Paris Alexander – “4000 Revs”

Blue Door Music Productions released the latest Paris Alexander single called “4000 Revs” in September, with Brighton, UK, based Alexander bringing you his post-punk based dark style.

‘4000 Revs is a driving song that evolved many years ago, whilst driving north through Provence, having visited the south coast of France. I was a passenger whilst my friend drove his raspy old black Alfasud 1.5 ti ( yes, I remember those details clearly ) and the experience left a great impression on me. The darkness, the silhouette of the mountains and the sound of the engine as its revs hovered around 4000 rpm with the many gear changes, as the car took us up and down the twisty roads. It was the perfect time to feel present and yet reflect on life. It was movement and it was being still. It was a moment in time I felt compelled to capture and so 4000 Revs remains a soundtrack to those memories.‘ – Paris Alexander

And ooh, the synths sound church like in the holy reverential way, maybe alluding to a higher realm of thought and existence in that moment. The programmed rhythms are there, but it is the bass guitar that is the heart of track and the thrumming of that motor which is the company of Alexander’s musings. His vocals are soothing, set low in the mix, becoming one with the starlight vehicle pulsing and tearing up the miles, surrounded by the night. In my honest opinion, this is a perfect darkwave track. “4000 Revs” is danceable, yet also a song to simply listen to and get lost in that point of time.
